STVBS COVID-19 Response

This page lists our current policies and procedures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, as we aim to create a safe environment for you to join us in worship. Updated July 30, 2020.

Attending Mass

We currently have public daily Mass (at 9 a.m. Tues.-Fri.) and weekend Masses (at 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday). To attend Mass, we ask that you call the parish office (722-3988) and register with your name, number of people in your party, and phone number. The office is taking reservations Mon.-Th. 9-3, and Fri. 9-11. Registration is necessary per Syracuse Diocese and New York State regulations in case contact tracing is needed. You also must wear a mask and bring hand sanitizer to Mass.

Watch this video to see other protocols for Holy Communion and attending Mass that are currently being used.

If you cannot attend Mass in person, we offer recorded videos of our weekday services that can be seen on our Facebook page. On Sunday mornings we livestream our 10 a.m. Mass on our YouTube channel. You can say the prayer below at Communion time:

Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are truly present in the Most Holy and Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and long for You in my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though You have already come, I embrace You and unite myself entirely to You, never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

Visiting the Church

The church is open for private prayer any time (except during a Mass) between the hours of 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. daily. As with attending Mass, masks must be worn, hand sanitizer used, and social distancing observed.

Reconciliation

Confessions are heard on Saturdays at 3 p.m. in the church Sacristy. Masks must be worn.

Funerals

Before the day of the funeral, an estimated count of those attending should be made to allow preparation of church seating in advance. All attendees must be registered. The family of the deceased can send the information for family members known to be attending in advance; others will be registered at the church entrance. Masks must be worn and hand sanitizer brought by all. Also, at this time, Diocesan and CDC guidelines do not permit funeral luncheons.

Parish Office

Anyone visiting the office must wear a mask. One visitor is allowed in at a time to ensure social distancing. Our current office hours are Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. - noon.

Collection Envelopes

If you cannot make it to Mass, collection envelopes may still be mailed or dropped off to the parish office mailbox located just outside the office door entrance. You may also consider using our online giving program, WeShare. Read the details here.
